Ireland is a country with very small roads, gravelled parking lots and a lot of turning in tight spaces. Your average travelling speed will be much slower than you might expect. The power of a motorcycle does therefore not matter much if at all.
Really important is the seat height: You should be able to reach the ground with flat feet for safe handling, especially when riding with a pillion passenger (no tippy-toes).
We recommend:
Shorter riders about 5`4`` to 5`7` (162-171 cm): Honda 500 Rebel, BMW F700GS (75/48hp) lowered.
Taller riders over 6 foot (182 cm): BMW F800GS, BMW F750GS, standard or taller seat.
Rider with pillion passenger: BMW F750GS, BMW F800GS, F700GS, in standard or lowered.
A2-license holders: BMW F700GS 48hp lower, Honda 500 Rebel. No pillion passenger.
You will find data and more information on the motorcycles at the very bottom of this page.

Our minimum rental is the price equivalent of 5 days. If you want to ride only 3 or 4 days (for example), you are welcome to do so, but you would still pay the minimum (5-day-) price.
If you plan to ride to the south coast or west coast, we recommend at least 5 days for a short trip, 7 days for about half the Wild Atlantic Way, 12-14 days for the entire WAW and 14-20 days for all around the isle of Ireland.
You need to present a valid full motorcycle license (no learner license) on your first rental day, as well as your passport (or EU-ID). The license must cover the motorcycle category in question. The EU-A2- license is fine for our A2- motorcycles under 48hp, starting from age 18. For motorcycles over 48hp you need an unrestricted motorcycle license, either the EU-A, or an other unrestricted motorcycle license. Your national non-european national license is fine, if it is written in English (e.g. national USA motorcycle license). If you come from outside Europe and your motorcycle license is not written in English, you will probably need the multilingual international driving license. We are happy to check that for you.
Fully comprehensive insurance is included in the rental price. The security deposit fully covers the insurance excess (deductible) in case of accident or damage. The deposit must be paid in cash (no credit card) when taking over the motorcycle (on arrival). We accept Euros and all European currencies, US- and Canadian Dollars, Australian and NZ-Dollars. The deposit will be refunded as you return the motorcycle and equipment undamaged. For younger riders up to age 21 and for riders from age 65 the refundable security deposit will increase by 300€.
No problem, you can drive to Northern Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales or the Isle of Man with no problems. Other EU countries would also be covered by the insurance. In case you leave the Isle, your refundable motorcycle deposit will increase by 500€.
The rider is responsible for returning the bike to the rental station. If the bike cannot be driven back (e.g. accident or tyre puncture), the rider must return the bike by recovery service on his/her own cost. There is no insurance that covers recovery costs. However, if the bike fails, for reasons that are outside the control of the rider (engine failure), Easycruiser.tours will cover the recovery costs.
